Why teams leave YouScan
- What it is: Social listening with AI image recognition (logos, objects, scenes), audience analysis and an AI agent, Insights Copilot (source).
- Company: Founded in 2009; 70+ employees, 5,000+ brands served, offices in New York, Mexico City, Limassol and Warsaw (source).
- Plans: Starter 3 at a published price, then custom Unlimited plans (source).
Annual billing from $499 a month. The only published plan, Starter 3, is $499 a month billed annually, so the smallest commitment is about $6,000 a year. There is no monthly option.
The headline features are on custom plans. Visual Insights (image recognition) and Audience Insights are only on the quoted Unlimited plans. API access is also there, and YouScan's help center lists it as a paid add-on. The entry plan is text-only listening.
Tight limits on the entry plan. Starter 3 covers 3 topics, up to 15,000 mentions a month, one dashboard and 10 Insights Copilot questions a month. Users mention running into data limits on their budget.
Built for consumer brands. Logo recognition matters when people post your product without naming it. B2B companies, whose buyers ask questions in text on Reddit, LinkedIn and Hacker News, get less out of it.
Users say the same thing in public. Six posts from Reddit, X and LinkedIn:

r/socialmedia, a YouScan customer
Still not cheap, but it's worked really well for me. It's not the most user friendly or pretty interface... The only issue I run into is data limits due to our budget. The data collection is a little bit delayed (sometimes by a few minutes, sometimes by a few days)

r/productreview, "YouScan review: does it actually work?"
The logo/object detection in tools like YouScan is solid for big, clean logos and obvious scenes, and weaker when logos are tiny, distorted, or user-modified.

r/SocialMediaManagers, after 3 years of social listening tools
Visual listening is the standout feature here. The AI recognizes logos in images, which is useful when people post your product without tagging you... Limitation: works best for consumer brands and is less useful for B2B use cases.

YouScan - Enterprise pricing (they wouldn't quote me) Pros: Looks powerful for social listening Cons: Obviously not for micro SaaS budgets Verdict: Laughed and moved on

Every leading platform has integrated GenAI into its workflow... YouScan Social Listening ✨ ➡️ Insight Copilot... But that doesn't mean the process is fully autonomous. The wow factor of instant machine analysis often overshadows a key concern: are we really seeing the full picture?

How much does YouScan cost?
YouScan publishes one price, for its entry plan. Everything above it, including image recognition, is quoted.
- Starter 3: $499 a month, billed annually (about $5,988 a year): 3 topics, up to 15,000 mentions a month, unlimited users, 1 custom dashboard (source).
- AI on Starter: Insights Copilot is capped at 10 questions a month; aspect sentiment and trend detection are included (source).
- Unlimited plans: Quote only: as many topics as you need, image analysis (Visual Insights), audience analysis, unlimited Copilot questions, exports and API access (source).
- API: Listed on Unlimited plans; YouScan's help center describes API data access as a paid add-on (source).
- Free trial: Available after a consultation call, no credit card (source).
What we checked for in every alternative
Seven checks, each one a column in the table below. Prices, API and MCP availability were checked on each vendor's own site in October 2026. We make SnitchFeed, so it is on the list; it is only the pick where its narrower focus is the right fit.
- 01
Starting price
The lowest published price for a plan that does real monitoring. Quote-only vendors are marked as such; we never guess a list price.
- 02
Term
Whether you can pay monthly, or have to sign an annual contract before you know the tool works for you.
- 03
Platforms
Which sources the tool covers, and whether the entry plan gets them or only the top tier.
- 04
Data access
Whether you can get your data out (exports, reports, history) and on which plan.
- 05
AI scoring and tagging
Whether the tool ranks or labels mentions for you (relevance, intent, sentiment) and whether it reads images as well as text.
- 06
API
Whether you can pull data into your own systems, and on which plan.
- 07
MCP
Whether the vendor offers an official MCP server, so AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT can query your data directly. Community-built servers do not count.

For startups and B2B teams
If your buyers ask questions in text on Reddit, LinkedIn and Hacker News rather than posting photos of your product, image recognition is not the feature that matters.
1. SnitchFeed: Best YouScan alternative for startups and B2B teams tracking buying intent
SnitchFeed watches Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Hacker News for posts that mention your brand, your competitors, or the problem you solve, then tells you which ones are worth acting on and helps you act.
Key features
- AI relevance scoring and intent tags . Every match gets a relevance score and tags such as buying intent, seeking an alternative, competitor complaint or recommendation request, so you work the top of the list instead of reading everything.
- Sentiment on every mention . Positive, negative or neutral, so complaints about you or a competitor stand out.
- Alerts where your team works . Slack, Discord or email: in real time for Reddit and Bluesky, and as often as every hour for X, LinkedIn and Hacker News.
- AI reply drafts . One click drafts a reply grounded in your product and written in your voice. You edit it and post it yourself.
- Automations with webhooks . Push every scored mention into Clay, Zapier, Make, n8n or your CRM as soon as it is found (Pro).
- API and MCP for your agents . Pull mentions into your own tools, or let Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor query them and manage listeners.
- Boolean keyword queries . AND, OR, NOT and exact phrases keep out unrelated meanings before they reach your team.
