SnitchFeed vs Alertly

Verified against Alertly's own site, September 2026

Alertly is the closest thing to a like-for-like competitor we have. They are cheaper, they cover a source we do not, and they ship AI intent filtering on their entry tier, which is the capability most tools in this space reserve for an upgrade. This page is going to concede a lot before it argues anything, because a comparison that pretended otherwise would not survive thirty seconds on their pricing page.

Who each tool is actually for

Alertly is for marketing teams who want a clean filtered feed

LinkedIn, Reddit, X, YouTube, Bluesky and Google News, with spam filtering, AI intent filtering and sentiment detection on every tier from $39 a month. They filter out what does not match your goals and send the rest to email and Slack.

SnitchFeed is for teams who work mentions, not just read them

Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Hacker News, with real-time Reddit and Bluesky ingestion, AI relevance and intent scoring, shared feeds, analytics, webhooks and MCP. Built as a workspace rather than a delivery pipe.

SnitchFeed or Alertly?

Choose Alertly if

Marketing teams who want a filtered mention feed in email and Slack, cheaply, including press and video coverage.

  • You want the lowest entry price with AI filtering included
  • You need YouTube or Google News coverage
  • Ten keywords is enough for the foreseeable future
  • A daily or hourly digest suits how you work
  • Reading and reacting individually is fine; you do not need a shared workspace

Choose SnitchFeed if

Teams who will outgrow ten keywords, work Reddit actively, or need several people in the same feed.

  • You want to control what matches, not only how it is filtered
  • You want real-time Reddit and Bluesky, not an hourly digest
  • Hacker News matters to you
  • More than one person needs to triage the same mentions
  • You want webhooks, an API and MCP to build on

What it costs

Alertly publishes no annual billing, so their prices are month to month and ours are shown both ways. Their mention allowances and our credits meter different things and are explained separately below.

ComparisonAlertlySnitchFeed
Entry tier$39/month (Starter), 10 keywords$59/month, or $47 annually, 10 keywords
Next tier up$99/month (Pro), 15 keywords$119/month, or $95 annually (Pro), 30 keywords
Top self-serve tier$149/month (Growth), 20 keywords$119/month (Pro), 30 keywords
SourcesLinkedIn, Reddit, X, YouTube, Bluesky, Google NewsReddit, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Hacker News
Alert cadenceDaily and hourly alertsReal-time on Reddit and Bluesky, hourly elsewhere
AI filteringSpam filter, intent filter and sentiment on every tierRelevance and intent scoring on every tier

Their mention allowances and our credits are not the same unit

One credit is two mentions, so Starter's 7,000 credits is 14,000 a month and Pro's 21,000 is 42,000, against their 10,000 on Starter and 20,000 on Pro. That is a ceiling: it holds in full on Reddit and Bluesky, which cost nothing to poll, and every LinkedIn or X keyword is polled from the same balance and lowers it.

Where Alertly is genuinely better

All of this is true. If any of it is a requirement rather than a preference, buy Alertly.

  • Cheaper at the door

$39 against our $59, for the same 10 keywords. If you are choosing on entry price with a comparable keyword count, they win and there is no clever way to argue around it.

  • AI intent filtering on the entry tier

Spam filtering, intent filtering and sentiment detection are on every Alertly plan including the $39 one. That is the capability most competitors gate behind an upgrade, and it is one we would normally point to as a differentiator. Here it is table stakes for both of us.

  • YouTube and Google News

Two sources we do not cover at any price. For a brand that gets written about in the press or discussed in video comments, that is a real gap on our side.

Where SnitchFeed beats Alertly

The cases where we would tell you to pick us.

  • Real-time on Reddit and Bluesky, with no credit cost

Alertly's published cadence is daily or hourly alerts. Reddit and Bluesky are continuous ingestion for us on every tier, so mentions surface in seconds, and neither platform consumes credits. If you work Reddit as a channel and want to reply while a thread is still live, that gap decides it.

  • A query language underneath the scoring

AND, OR, NOT, grouping and exact phrases, plus Hacker News qualifiers, with relevance and intent scoring applied to what the query returns. Alertly filters a stream for you; here you also get to say what enters the stream in the first place.

  • Hacker News

Not covered by Alertly. If you sell developer tools or launch on HN, that is a source you would otherwise have to watch by hand.

  • A workspace rather than a delivery pipe

Tunable listeners, shared feeds, analytics reports, reply drafting, an MCP server, and webhooks on Pro. Alertly is built around filtering a stream and sending you the good parts, which is a real product and enough for many teams. The difference shows once several people need to work the same mentions rather than each reading an email.

  • Keyword headroom when you outgrow ten

Alertly's tiers buy keywords slowly: 10 at $39, 15 at $99, 20 at $149. Ours go 10 at $59 and 30 at $119. It is not why we would tell you to pick us, but if you are heading past twenty terms the arithmetic stops favouring them.

Where these figures come from

Alertly figures were checked against their own site in September 2026. Pricing changes; if you spot something out of date here, tell us and we will fix it.

How much does Alertly cost?
Starter is $39/month for 10 keywords and 10,000 mentions, Pro is $99 for 15 keywords and 20,000 mentions, and Growth is $149 for 20 keywords and 30,000 mentions. All tiers include spam filtering, AI intent filtering and sentiment detection. There is a 7-day free trial and no published annual billing.
Is Alertly cheaper than SnitchFeed?
At the entry tier, yes: $39 against $59 for the same 10 keywords. It reverses as you scale. Twenty keywords costs $149 on Alertly, where 30 keywords costs $119 on SnitchFeed Pro.
What does Alertly monitor?
LinkedIn, Reddit, X, YouTube, Bluesky and Google News. SnitchFeed covers Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Hacker News. They have YouTube and Google News; we have Hacker News.
Does Alertly have AI filtering?
Yes, on every tier including the $39 Starter: spam filtering, an AI intent filter and sentiment detection. This is not a difference between the two tools.
How quickly do mentions arrive?
Alertly publishes daily and hourly alerts. SnitchFeed ingests Reddit and Bluesky in real time and refreshes X, LinkedIn and Hacker News hourly, on every tier.
How many mentions do SnitchFeed's credits buy?
AI scoring costs half a credit per mention, so one credit is two: 7,000 credits on Starter is 14,000 mentions a month, and 21,000 on Pro is 42,000. That is a ceiling, reached only on Reddit and Bluesky, which cost nothing to poll. LinkedIn and X are polled per keyword out of the same balance: one X keyword scanned every four hours is 360 credits a month, one LinkedIn keyword 720, and at hourly those become 1,440 and 2,880. Subtract those to get your real number. Alertly's 10,000, 20,000 and 30,000 count delivered mentions, with no polling term at all.
