Enterprise social listening, and when you actually need it
Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Meltwater and Talkwalker are good products sold to a buyer who is probably not you. Here is how to tell.

Two minutes to know which one you are
Buy the enterprise platform
You need years of historical data, broadcast and print alongside social, formal procurement (SOC2, DPAs, SSO), analyst services, or share of voice across dozens of markets. Nothing at our price point does those things, and you should stop reading here.
You do not need one
You need the conversations that matter to your go-to-market found early, scored so the noise does not drown the signal, and pushed into Slack while they are still live. That is a different job from enterprise media measurement, and it is the one SnitchFeed is built for.
What these platforms do better than us
All of it is true, and none of it is close. If any of these is a requirement rather than a nice-to-have, buy one of them.
- Historical archives. BuzzSumo keeps two to five years. Brandwatch and Talkwalker keep far more. SnitchFeed keeps 3 months on Starter and 6 on Pro. We do not intend to compete here.
- Sources beyond social. Broadcast, print, podcasts, review sites, newsletters, TikTok and Instagram. We cover five platforms: Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Hacker News.
- Procurement and services. SOC2, DPAs, SSO, dedicated account managers, onboarding and analyst teams. A regulated enterprise cannot simply buy us instead, and we are not going to pretend a self-serve tool clears that bar.
- Image and video analysis, and scale. YouScan reads logos in images. Brandwatch runs consumer research methodology across millions of mentions. These are different products from ours, not bigger versions of it.
What it costs
Five of these publish prices. Four do not, and the figures below are third-party contract data, so treat them as ranges rather than quotes.
Published pricing
| Tool | Entry price | What that buys |
|---|---|---|
| BuzzSumo | $199/mo ($159 annually) | 1 seat, 2 alerts, 2 years of history. Content research and journalist outreach, not alerting. |
| Brand24 | $249/mo ($199 annually) | 3 keywords, 2k mentions, 1 user. The broadest source list of any tool here. |
| YouScan | $499/mo, annual billing only | 3 topics, 15k mentions, unlimited seats. Image recognition and audience insights are genuinely distinctive. |
| Keyhole | Quote-influenced | Analytics only, 14-day trial. Published prices vary by source, so we do not quote one. |
| SnitchFeed | $59/mo ($47 annually) | 10 keywords, 1 seat, 3 months of history, five platforms. |
Quote only
| Tool | Reported range | What you are buying |
|---|---|---|
| Meltwater | ~$6k to $25k+ per year | Full earned-media suite: PR distribution, journalist database, broadcast. |
| Talkwalker | ~$25k+ per year, six figures at scale | Broadcast and print alongside social. |
| Brandwatch | ~$12k per year minimum, ~$50k median contract | Deep historical archive and consumer research practice. |
| Sprinklr | ~$25k to $200k+ per year | A CX platform where listening is one module among many. |
| Mention | No public pricing | Left self-serve entirely. Demo-gated, 75+ review sites. |
One tool often grouped with these is priced nothing like them: Awario starts at $29/month billed annually, which is cheaper than we are. It is an SMB tool rather than an enterprise one, so we compare against it directly instead of lumping it in here.
Ranges are drawn from public contract aggregators and vendor reporting, not from quotes we hold. Your number will differ. We publish them as bands because a single figure would imply a precision nobody outside those sales teams has.
Where we are the better buy
One case, and it is a common one. You are a small team. You want to know when someone mentions your product, your competitors, or a problem you solve, on the platforms where your buyers actually talk. You want the noise filtered before it reaches you, and the rest in Slack. You do not need broadcast monitoring, a media database, or an account manager.
For that job, an enterprise contract is not a better version of what you need. It is a different product, built for measuring media coverage rather than for finding and acting on conversations, with a procurement cycle attached. You can have SnitchFeed running this afternoon, and if it turns out you needed the enterprise platform after all, you will have lost a month rather than a year.
