Social listening has suddenly started gaining a lot of attention, especially in the solopreneur/startup community. It makes sense—AI is finally at a stage where we can use it for inference of 100s of thousands of social media posts without it being a cost-prohibitive endeavor.
I built SnitchFeed because, well, I needed it for myself. I needed it for Conncord, so I could find relevant conversations where my ICP hung out—on r/hubspot and in random pockets on LinkedIn. Then I thought, hell, let's productize this and see if it gets attention.
SnitchFeed got attention.
But what makes SnitchFeed better than competing tools is how well it filters out irrelevant mentions. This, at it's core, is what makes SnitchFeed as good as it is today.
So... How does it work?
AI is simple: garbage in, garbage out.
Inference works best when it has all the context it can possibly get. Simply passing in the body of a post along with a prompt asking it to decide if there are any intent signals in the mention might get you some results, but you're going to find yourself having to sift through 100s of mentions every day to find a handful of relevant ones.
SnitchFeed's Relevance Filtering has two layers:
Layer 1: Company Context
We first set the foundation of what is relevant to you and your business.
During onboarding, SnitchFeed automatically fetches information about your company (using your company domain), and answers these questions for itself:
- What does your business do?
- What are the services or products you offer?
- What problems do you solve?
- Who is your target audience?
- What are your business use cases?
- How can people use your products or services to solve their problems?
Answers to these questions are then verified by you in the next step of onboarding.
Layer 2: Fine Grained, More Keywords-Specific Context
When you set up a new Listener, you can define—in natural language—what exact signals you're looking for when listening to a particular set of keywords.
Combined with Layer 1, the AI now has a complete understanding of not only your business, but also the exact conversations, posts and tweets that you would like to know about.
Each Mention is Analyzed by AI
SnitchFeed's AI takes all this combined context, keeps it in memory, and analyzes each Reddit, LinkedIn, Twitter or Bluesky mention and assigns it two scores: Relevance and Sentiment.
Naturally, mentions with lower scores get filtered out of sight, so you can focus on the most relevant, high-intent conversations that you do care about.
There's More: AI Tagging
Each mention also gets tags based on its content. These are tags that let you group similar mentions together—competitor insights, industry news, buy intent, etc.
Soon, you'll be able to use these tags to do some pretty neat stuff, like chatting with your feed to ask it about content ideas that will resonate with your audience.
