SnitchFeed vs F5Bot

Verified against F5Bot's own site, September 2026

F5Bot is one of the genuinely good free tools on the internet, and most comparisons of it are dishonest. It is not a stripped-down trial version of a paid product: its Gold tier at $49.99 a month includes AI filtering, Slack, Discord and an API, and undercuts our entry price. The real difference is not features or cost, it is which platforms each tool can see.

Who each tool is actually for

F5Bot is for Reddit and Hacker News, done cheaply and well

Reddit posts and comments across every subreddit, Hacker News, and Lobsters. Free forever with no stated keyword limit, or $9.99 a month for advanced filtering, or $49.99 for 200 keywords with AI filtering, Slack, Discord, RSS, JSON and API access. If those three sources are where your audience lives, this is the right tool and the free tier may be all you need.

SnitchFeed is for teams whose buyers are not only on Reddit

Reddit and Hacker News, plus X, LinkedIn and Bluesky, with AI relevance scoring, intent signals and routing into Slack, Discord and webhooks. Built for B2B teams who need to catch conversations wherever they happen and turn them into work.

SnitchFeed or F5Bot?

Choose F5Bot if

Anyone who needs Reddit, Hacker News or Lobsters keyword alerts, especially at high keyword volume or no cost.

  • Your audience is on Reddit and Hacker News, and nowhere else that matters
  • You want a lot of keywords cheaply, or you want it free
  • Email, Slack, Discord or a feed is all the delivery you need
  • You are comfortable filtering noise yourself

Choose SnitchFeed if

B2B teams who need Reddit and Hacker News plus the platforms F5Bot does not cover, with the noise filtered before it reaches them.

  • You need X, LinkedIn or Bluesky as well as Reddit
  • Your keywords are generic enough that raw alerts would drown you
  • You want mentions scored, tagged and routed rather than just forwarded
  • More than one person needs to work the same feed

What it costs

F5Bot publishes no annual billing, so their figures are month to month. Ours are shown both ways.

Where F5Bot is genuinely better

All of this is true. If any of it is a requirement rather than a preference, buy F5Bot.

  • It is free, and the free tier is genuinely useful

No card, no trial clock, no stated keyword limit. If you want to know when someone mentions your product on Reddit or Hacker News and you are happy receiving that by email, F5Bot does the job for nothing and we cannot compete with that. Plenty of people should stop here.

  • Far more keywords per dollar

Gold gives you 200 keywords for $49.99 a month. Our Pro gives you 30 for $119. If your problem is simply that you have a lot of terms to watch, F5Bot is better value and it is not close.

  • Their paid tier undercuts our entry tier

Gold at $49.99 includes AI filtering, Slack, Discord and API access for less than our $59 Starter. We are not going to claim those capabilities as our differentiators when a cheaper tool ships all of them.

  • Lobsters coverage

A small thing, but real: we do not monitor Lobsters at any price.

Where SnitchFeed beats F5Bot

The cases where we would tell you to pick us.

  • X, LinkedIn and Bluesky, which F5Bot cannot see at any price

This is the whole comparison. F5Bot monitors three sources and none of them is X or LinkedIn. If your buyers discuss tools on LinkedIn, or your brand gets talked about on X, no F5Bot tier will ever surface it. For most B2B teams that is the deciding factor.

  • A workspace rather than an alert stream

Listeners you can tune, feeds you can share, AI relevance and intent scoring on every mention, analytics, and reply drafting. F5Bot is deliberately a notifier, and it is an excellent one. If your problem ends when the alert arrives, that is enough. If it starts there, you will outgrow it.

  • Signal quality on high-volume terms

A common term on r/all produces a lot of noise, and a keyword alerter forwards it all. Our AI scoring filters and ranks before anything reaches you, which matters more the more generic your keywords are.

Where these figures come from

F5Bot figures were checked against their own site in September 2026. Pricing changes; if you spot something out of date here, tell us and we will fix it.
