# Track LinkedIn and X profiles (https://snitchfeed.com/docs/listeners/tracked-profiles)

**Tracked profiles** let a listener follow specific **LinkedIn** or **X (Twitter)** accounts, either a person or a company page, and collect their new public posts. Unlike [keyword terms](/docs/listeners/boolean-search), these posts do not need to match a search query.

Use tracked profiles when you care about a known account, such as a competitor's company page, an analyst, a founder or a partner, rather than a topic. A listener can also be **profile only**: tracked profiles and no keyword terms.

  **Authors (Tracked Profiles)** follows an account and collects its posts.
  **Authors (Keyword Tracking)** only limits or blocks keyword matches by
  account. Both live in the listener's **Authors** section. See [Create a
  listener](/docs/listeners/create#authors).

## What you get [#what-you-get]

* Posts from each tracked profile appear as mentions on that listener, even when they match no keyword.
* These mentions are scored like any other, with a [Fit Score](/docs/fit-score), intent tags and sentiment, using the listener's [intent signal](/docs/listeners/listener-intent).
* Feed items and the mention detail panel show a **Tracked Profile** label.
* In [feeds](/docs/feeds), the **Tracked Profiles** filter shows mentions from the accounts you pick.
* Notifications work as for keyword matches: a feed sends a tracked profile post if it passes that feed's filters. See [Set up notifications for a feed](/docs/notifications/per-feed).

## Supported platforms [#supported-platforms]

| Platform | Profile types | How you add it |
| ------------ | ---------------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| **LinkedIn** | Person or company page | Paste the public profile or company URL |
| **X**        | User account           | Paste the public profile URL            |

Reddit, Bluesky and Hacker News accounts cannot be tracked. Keyword terms still cover those platforms.

## Add tracked profiles [#add-tracked-profiles]

<Steps>
  <Step>
    ### Open the Authors section [#open-the-authors-section]

    Open **Listeners**, pick a listener or click **Create a new Listener**, and select **Authors**.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    ### Paste a profile URL [#paste-a-profile-url]

    Under **Authors (Tracked Profiles)**, paste a LinkedIn or X profile URL and press Enter. SnitchFeed looks up the account and shows its name and avatar so you can confirm it is the right one.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    ### Save the listener [#save-the-listener]

    Add as many profiles as you need, then click **Save**. SnitchFeed fetches each new profile's posts right away, then again on the listener's scan interval for that platform: the X interval for X profiles and the LinkedIn interval for LinkedIn profiles.
  </Step>
</Steps>

To stop following an account, click the x on its chip and save the listener.

If SnitchFeed has trouble fetching a profile's posts, the chip turns red. Hover it to see the status: it retries automatically while the listener is active, and waits while the listener is paused.

## Credits [#credits]

Each profile fetch costs a flat amount, whatever the number of posts returned:

| Fetch                  | Credits |
| ---------------------- | ------: |
| LinkedIn person posts  |       4 |
| LinkedIn company posts |       4 |
| X posts and replies    |       2 |

Each stored mention is also charged the normal AI scoring cost. See [Credits and usage](/docs/credits).

Monthly estimate for one tracked profile:

```text
credits ≈ (24 ÷ scan interval in hours) × 30 × credits per fetch
```

**Example:** one LinkedIn company page on the default 12 hour LinkedIn interval: (24 ÷ 12) × 30 × 4 = **240** credits per month. The listener editor includes tracked profiles in its **Required credits/mo** estimate.

## Tips [#tips]

* Use a separate listener for profile tracking, for example "Competitor: Acme company page", when you want its own feed and alerts.
* Pair tracked profiles with a clear intent signal so Fit Score still ranks the useful posts from busy accounts.
* Paste the canonical public URL: LinkedIn `/in/...` or `/company/...`, X `x.com/...` or `twitter.com/...`.
* **Only from these authors** and **Never from these authors** apply to keyword matches only, not to tracked profile posts.
