# SnitchFeed key terms: listeners, feeds, Fit Score and more (https://snitchfeed.com/docs/key-terms)

These are the words you will see across SnitchFeed, each in a sentence or two. Follow the link under each term for the full guide.

## Finding posts [#finding-posts]

### Listener [#listener]

A saved setup that tells SnitchFeed which posts to collect and how to score them. Create one per topic you want to watch: your brand, a competitor, a pain point or a campaign. [Create a listener](/docs/listeners/create)

### Keyword (term) [#keyword-term]

Each keyword on a listener is a search called a **term**. A term has a main word or phrase, optional words it must or must not include, and its own platforms. [Keywords](/docs/listeners/keywords)

### Intent signal [#intent-signal]

A plain-language description of the posts a listener should surface, 200 to 500 characters long. SnitchFeed uses it to score each mention, so posts that fit your goal score higher. [Intent signal](/docs/listeners/listener-intent#intent-signal)

### Noisy signals [#noisy-signals]

An optional description of posts that match your keywords but are not worth your time, such as job posts or giveaways. They lower a post's score instead of dropping it. [Noisy signals](/docs/listeners/listener-intent#noisy-signals)

### Brand Context [#brand-context]

Your workspace profile: what you sell, who buys it and how you position. SnitchFeed builds it from your website and uses it, with each listener's intent signal, to score mentions. [Brand Context](/docs/listeners/listener-intent#brand-context)

### Tracked profile [#tracked-profile]

A LinkedIn person, LinkedIn company page or X account that a listener follows. Its new public posts are collected even when they match no keyword. [Track profiles](/docs/listeners/tracked-profiles)

### Scan interval [#scan-interval]

How often SnitchFeed searches X, LinkedIn and Hacker News for each term on a listener, from every hour to every 24 hours. Reddit and Bluesky are watched in real time, so they have no interval. [Scans & backfill](/docs/listeners/scan-intervals)

### Backfill [#backfill]

A one-time search for recent posts, so a new listener does not start empty. It runs when you create a listener, add a term, or change a term's search. [Scans & backfill](/docs/listeners/scan-intervals)

## Reviewing mentions [#reviewing-mentions]

### Mention [#mention]

A post or comment that a listener collected. Each mention gets a short AI summary, a Fit Score, intent tags and a sentiment score. [Feeds](/docs/feeds)

### Feed [#feed]

A filtered view of your mentions. **All mentions** shows everything, and a saved feed keeps a set of filters under a name. Each new listener gets its own feed, and alerts are set per feed. [Feeds](/docs/feeds)

### Fit Score [#fit-score]

A percentage that says how closely a mention matches what you care about. It is based on your Brand Context, the listener's intent signal and the post itself. High is 70% and above, Medium is 50% to 69%, and Low is below 50%. [Fit Score](/docs/fit-score)

### Intent tags [#intent-tags]

AI labels that describe what the author is doing, such as **Buying Intent**, **Pain Point** or **Seeking Alternative**. A mention gets up to three. Do not confuse them with the intent signal, which is text you write. [Fit Score](/docs/fit-score)

### Sentiment [#sentiment]

The tone of a post: **Positive**, **Neutral** or **Negative**. It is separate from Fit Score, so a negative competitor complaint can still be a strong lead. [Fit Score](/docs/fit-score)

### Opportunities [#opportunities]

A ranked list of your High and Medium Fit Score mentions, best first. Archived mentions are left out. [Opportunities](/docs/features/opportunities)

### Collections [#collections]

Named, color-coded lists of mentions you want to keep, shared across your workspace. Saving a mention to a collection does not remove it from your feeds. [Save & archive](/docs/organize-mentions#collections)

### Archive [#archive]

Where mentions go once they are out of your way. Archived mentions leave every feed, Opportunities and exports, and you can restore them at any time. SnitchFeed also archives mentions that no longer fit when you tighten a listener. [Save & archive](/docs/organize-mentions#archive)

## Acting and automating [#acting-and-automating]

### Snitch AI [#snitch-ai]

The chat assistant built into SnitchFeed. It answers questions about your mentions and can set up listeners and feeds after you approve each change. [Snitch AI](/docs/features/snitch-ai)

### Response profile [#response-profile]

A shared preset for AI replies: your goal, voice and example replies. Teams keep a few, for example one for support and one for founder-led replies. [AI replies](/docs/features/ai-responses#response-profiles)

### Workflow [#workflow]

An automation for new mentions. It starts with a trigger, runs steps such as filters, delays and human approval, and ends by sending the mention to an Outflo campaign or a webhook. Workflows are on the Pro plan. [Workflows](/docs/features/workflows)

### Credits [#credits]

The unit SnitchFeed uses for metered work: scans, AI scoring, AI replies, Snitch AI chat, scrapers and API or MCP searches. Your plan includes a set number each billing period. [Credits](/docs/credits)
